The Etwall Art Group has been in existence since 1972 when a small group of local artists got together to show their paintings at the Etwall Well Dressings. As the number of people interested in painting grew the Etwall Art Group enjoyed meeting regularly where they had self–help classes and demonstrations together with more social gatherings.
The main event each year was the organisation of the Well Dressing Exhibition which has continued until the present day, coming up now for 35 years. This has always been an Open Exhibition but under the control and organisation of the Etwall Art Group. It is designed to give all local artists the opportunity to display and sell their work whether they are Group members or not. The Exhibition has been held in various venues over the years and now is held in the Frank Wickham Hall in Etwall.
The autumn exhibition was introduced three years ago when the group decided to have a small exhibition in the Pavillion alongside the Etwall Show held in the main Frank Wickham Hall .
